Get StartedThis paper presents a performance assessment of a solar system installed on the rooftop of residence in different regions of Thailand by using PSIM simulation. Solar rooftop installation comparison in different regions is carried out to evaluate the suitable location.
For this reason, the central part of Thailand is a suitable place for installing solar rooftop in terms of solar radiation and temperature. In the case of using different solar panels, the thin-film type solar panel is not suitable for solar rooftop systems as its generation capacity is less than the other types of solar panels.
For the economic evaluation, the solar rooftop sizes of less than 10 kW are implemented. The study cases are based on the installation of monocrystalline solar panels and using the FiT scheme supported for solar rooftop in Thailand. The sizes of solar rooftops are varied to compare and analyze economic feasibility in terms of DPP, NPV, IRR, and PI.
The monocrystalline and polycrystalline solar panels can generate maximum power close to each other. For the economic evaluation, the solar rooftop sizes of less than 10 kW are implemented.
