China-based Kibing Group is set to establish a large solar glass manufacturing plant in Kimanis, Sabah, approximately 40 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu, the state capital in Malaysia.
Zhuzhou Kibing intends to invest in two photovoltaic glass production lines in Sabah, Malaysia, with a total investment of 3.12 billion yuan. The two production lines are designed to have production capacity of 1200t/d, and are expected to be completed within 16 months.
NSG Group is pleased to announce the warm up of a newly converted TCO (transparent conductive oxide) facility in Malaysia. In this investment, an existing float line at the Johor Bahru factory of Malaysian Sheet Glass SDN BHD, a member of NSG Group, has been converted to begin producing TCO glass from December 2023.
A float line at the Johor Bahru factory of NSG’s Malaysian Sheet Glass will install online coating capacity soon and start shipping TCO glass for solar panel manufacture after the facility is in operation. It is anticipated that the supply from the converted line will commence in March 2024.
This facility will also build on Kibing’s existing solar glass plant at the Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park (KKIP). Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, who attended the signing event, noted that the project could create local jobs and boost Sabah’s economic growth.
